I hold clinics for private patients at the Bristol Spire Hospital and the Cheltenham Nuffield Hospital. I assess and treat a wide range of patients, including those suffering from anxiety disorders, mood disorders including depression, personality disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, alcohol and drug dependence, and not uncommonly where there is comorbid chronic pain, either organic or psychogenic in origin.
I undertake educational and research roles through the University of Bristol, where I am an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer.
I qualified as a doctor at the University of Oxford; I undertook my Specialist Training in the Severn Deanery. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. I have gained the Cardiff University Bond Solon Certificate as an expert witness in Civil Law. I am part of a medicolegal peer group.
I prepare approximately 150 reports a year. My estimated ratio of Claimant:Defendant is 80:20.
My report should be ready within two to three weeks of seeing the patient, if papers are available prior to the appointment.
