Dr Aylard retired from clinical practice in March 2019, he is fully booked until January 2020 and is no longer accepting new referrals/instructions as he will be retiring fully in 2020. He will continue to be available after 2020 for all existing cases, including those booked in and confirmed, until they are settled or closed.

Experience and Qualifications
I have been a Consultant Psychiatrist since October 1985, with dual accreditation as a Consultant Psychiatrist and a Consultant Psychotherapist. Between 1985 and 1990 I worked at the Roundway Hospital, Devizes. Between 1990 and 1995 I worked at Southmead Hospital Bristol. Since 1993 I have worked part time in private practice and since 1995 I have worked full time in private practice. My work involves assessing and treating patients with a wide range of conditions, in particular those suffering from anxiety disorders, mood disorders including depression, personality disorder, chronic pain, post-traumatic stress disorder, somatisation disorder and alcohol dependence. I have special expertise in treating medical colleagues with mental illness.
My qualifications are Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Diploma in Psychotherapy, Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Over the past 10 years, I have supervised medical practitioners for the General Medical Council.
My estimated ratio of Defendant/Plaintiff/Joint reports is 60:30:10
Medical records and other relevant documents are required before appointments can be booked. My report should be ready within six weeks of seeing the patient.
